PIC12C508A packs Microchip's powerful PICmicro® microcontroller architecture into an 8-pin package. This powerful yet easy-to-program (only 33 single word instructions) CMOS microcontroller contains 512x12 words of program memory and 25 bytes of user RAM and 4MHz maximum speed. It has 4 oscillator selections including the internal 4MHz RC oscillator with programmable calibration. This peripheral-rich device includes 2 digital timers (8-bit TMR0 and a Watchdog timer), Power-On-Reset, and Programmable Code Protection. The PIC12C508A has 6 I/O pins with 25mA source/sink per I/O, and is capable of In-Circuit Serial Programming™. This device is well suited for applications requiring electronics intelligence not previously available in mechanical applications because of cost or size considerations.
